There are two main reasons why the devotion to Santo Niño (Holy Child) is the most popular in the Philippines. First, it is our oldest devotion, with roots going back to the early beginnings of Christianity in the Philippines. Second, in the Santo Niño, we Filipinos see our God in the form of a child, and who doesn’t love little children? As a child, God is so endearing that he invites our affection.
